Mark is a seasoned consultant, facilitator and trainer with over 20 years experience leading organizational effectiveness work and multi-stakeholder consultations in both the public and private sectors.
The focus of Mark’s work is helping organizations create workplace cultures that provide winning conditions for success and generate high performance results. Since joining INTERSOL in 1994, Mark has worked with thousands of senior executive teams, front line leaders and intact project teams in a broad range of organizations from large multi-national corporations, to high technology start ups and not for profit associations. Mark brings a depth and breadth of knowledge, skill and experience that is highly respected and an engaging style that quickly builds trust at all levels of the organization.
Some examples of his organizational development and culture work include:
- Organizational culture assessment and transformation strategy at a global high technology company under financial pressure to increase their organizational performance;
- Executive team development within a health regulation firm to define their mandate, build trust, resolve conflict and improve leadership and decision making;
- A customized Leadership and Management Development Program to increase leadership skills, improve employee satisfaction, and position a manufacturing company for growth.
Mark has also facilitated hundreds of multi-stakeholder groups in resolving complex, highly sensitive issues. Clients particularly appreciate his collaborative approach and ability to expertly facilitate highly conflicted interdependent groups toward shared goals and positive outcomes.
A few highlights of his consultative design and participative facilitation work include:
- An Adaptation to Climate Change Framework for Agriculture Agri-Food Canada;
- The Department of National Defence’s Statement of Defence Ethics;
- A common IT platform to share scientific research among 14 independent NGOs of the Consultative Group for Agricultural Research located around the globe.
Mark received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta and an MA in Human Systems Intervention, from the University of Concordia. Mark liked HSI’s practical focus so much, he later joined the faculty and enjoyed teaching applied Organization Development to working professionals for several years.
Mark is currently an Associate Faculty member at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC. He teaches in their renowned School of Leadership Studies and leads INTERSOL’s partnership with the Todd Thomas Institute for Values Based Leadership at Royal Roads.
