Julie Fillion

Julie Fillion joined the Intersol team after a highly successful twenty-year career as a scientist and manager in the Canadian Federal Public Service, where she gained a good understanding of the interface between science and policy or regulations. She brings to Intersol her experience in quality control and process improvement, strategic and operational planning, human resources management, knowledge transfer and training, as well as organizational change and transition.

Julie is fluently bilingual in French and English; she holds a Bachelor of Science (chemistry) from the University of Waterloo and a Masters in Public Administration from l'École nationale d'administration publique. She has also completed a number of professional development courses, including a certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and in coaching. She is one of only six consultants in Ottawa who are certified to train and consult using the Language and Behavior Profile, a tool that has many practical applications including recruiting, team building, leadership development, motivation, as well as effective communication. She is a Certified Professional Facilitator, with the International Association of Facilitators. 

Julie understands the challenges of leadership in the public sector and enjoys helping technical experts develop the skills they require to make a successful transition to a leadership position. She has established a reputation for excellence and reliability, and she brings a solution focused approach to her work. Julie also possesses excellent writing skills in both languages, and has experience in preparing session reports and other types of documents.
