Ottawa (Ontario) – PS Engage: A tapestry of people and ideas is a one-day learning and networking event that weaves together the themes of collaboration, innovation and mobilization. These topics are increasingly important in a Public Service (PS) environment characterized by limited resources and demographic shifts. To prosper in a sustainable way, federal government employees must collaborate, share knowledge, and forge new partnerships.
Promoting the sharing of knowledge and new ideas, PS Engage distinguishes itself from other federal government collaborative learning events by emphasizing relevant ideas from outside the Government, rather than from within.
This jam-packed event will feature plenary sessions, discussion circles and activities designed to provide practical, hands-on learning and networking opportunities. A diverse array of speakers will share their stories on government mobilization and web 2.0 initiatives. Notable presenters include: the Honourable Tony Clement, President of
Treasury Board and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario ; Mr.
GovLoop, Steve Ressler; Director of Public Affairs for the
Mayo Clinic, Ina Parvanova; and, President & CEO of the
Canadian Science and Technology Museums, Denise Amyot.
All levels of public service employees are encouraged to attend and benefit from connecting with change-agents and thought-leaders who care about building a better Public Service.
PS Engage is taking place on November 22, 2011 at the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa. The event runs from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and is followed by a complimentary wine and cheese networking gala.
